What is a hackathon?

A hackathon is a 48-hour tech event for teams of students to learn new skills, and build cool tech projects. Teams of students work together to create a project from scratch in 48 hours and then present their project to judges.

Who can attend?

All current students can attend MDHacks. No coding experience is necessary! Non-STEM majors, first-time hackers, and beginner coders are welcomed and encouraged to join us!

What if I don't know how to code?

A Hackathon is a great way to start learning how to code. We also have a programming puzzle track setup for newer programmers.

Do I need a team?

Teams are not necessary, but you may have up to 4 people on a team.

What am I allowed to make?

You are allowed to make anything you want that fits any of the tracks, the judges will announce a winner and runner up for each track.
